PE Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable PE Teacher to deliver engaging physical education across Key Stages 3‑5 in schools around Darlington. The role offers the chance to work in inclusive, high‑achieving secondary schools, supporting student progress, wellbeing and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a broad, balanced PE curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds.
• Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to promote positive outcomes.
• Uphold high standards of behaviour, engagement and physical participation.
• Support and, where possible, lead extra‑curricular sporting activities.

Required profile

• Qualified PE Teacher with QTS (ECTs/NQTs welcome).
• Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical activities.
• Confident classroom and practical presence.
• Reliable, flexible and professional attitude.
• Up‑to‑date DBS or willingness to obtain one.
