PE Teacher

About the role

As a PE Teacher you will deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons across a variety of sports and fitness activities, encouraging participation, resilience and sportsmanship while supporting students’ physical development and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach a variety of sports including team games, athletics, gymnastics and fitness.
• Deliver both practical and theory‑based sessions where applicable.
• Assess, track and report on student progress.
• Support GCSE and A‑Level PE / Sports Science where relevant.
• Promote health, fitness and wellbeing across the school.
• Organise extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and school teams.
• Support inter‑school competitions and sporting events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related subject.
• Strong practical sporting ability and subject knowledge.
• Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Willingness to contribute to wider school sport and enrichment.
