PE Teacher – Temporary Full‑time Cover in Sussex

About the role

Reed Education is seeking Physical Education (PE) specialists to provide short‑ and long‑term cover in secondary schools across West and East Sussex. The role is suitable for qualified teachers, experienced coaches, or individuals looking to gain classroom experience before training to teach.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver PE lessons and support the school’s curriculum on a temporary basis.
• Provide cover for qualified teaching positions as well as unqualified but experienced coaching roles.
• Adapt to the needs of different schools, working flexible hours and days (minimum three days per week).
• Maintain positive behaviour management in line with each school’s policies.
• Collaborate with school staff and adapt quickly to new student groups.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK and a DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience working with students in a school or similar setting (desirable).
• Strong, positive behaviour management techniques.
• Good communication skills and confidence to engage with new groups of students daily.
• Driver’s licence is desirable but not mandatory.
• Flexible and positive attitude towards varied assignments.
