About the role

The school is an Alternative Provision setting in Bromley‑by‑Bow, supporting pupils aged 11‑18. As a PE Teaching Assistant you will help deliver physical education lessons and encourage participation in sport and fitness.

Key responsibilities

  • Support PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Encourage positive participation in a variety of sports and fitness activities.
  • Deliver small‑group interventions.
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs during practical activities.
  • Promote teamwork, resilience and healthy lifestyles.
  • Help manage behaviour positively throughout lessons.
  • Assist with extracurricular sports where appropriate.

Required profile

  • Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH.
  • Experience in schools, Alternative Provision or youth work.
  • Passion for sport and physical education.
  • Positive role model with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate disengaged learners.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude.
