Pensions Manager - Governance & Risk

About the role

The Pensions Manager – Governance & Risk will lead the development and maintenance of the governance framework for M&G's three large UK pension schemes. You will ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative standards while supporting trustees and members.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the governance framework for all pension schemes.
• Ensure regulatory and legislative compliance across defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
• Provide training, guidance and support to trustees to fulfil their duties.
• Oversee day‑to‑day scheme operations and resolve complex member queries.
• Collaborate with strategic advisers and internal teams to align investment and risk strategies.
• Monitor and report on governance and risk performance to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pension scheme governance and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of UK pension legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work closely with trustees and senior management.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
