Pensions Technical & Professional Standards Manager

About the role

We are seeking a senior Pensions Technical & Professional Standards Manager to lead governance, legislative interpretation and quality assurance across our Defined Benefit pensions administration. The role combines technical leadership with continuous improvement, supporting a large third‑party administration environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex Defined Benefit pension matters.
• Interpret legislative and regulatory developments and embed them into business processes.
• Support and enhance governance, quality‑assurance and professional‑standards frameworks.
• Lead technical initiatives related to industry developments and regulatory change.
• Manage root‑cause analysis activities, identify trends and drive service improvements.
• Produce management information, reporting and technical insights for decision‑making.
• Collaborate with operations, quality and leadership teams to ensure consistency and best practice.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Defined Benefit pensions administration.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK pensions legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in governance, quality assurance or compliance‑focused pensions roles.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical matters clearly.
