Pensions Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Pensions Technician to join a leading consultancy in Edinburgh. The role supports front‑line teams handling complex pension queries and ensures compliance with legislation across a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complex pension enquiries from advisors, clients and internal colleagues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date expertise on pension legislation and ensure all processes meet regulatory standards.
• Develop and lead action plans to resolve non‑compliant scenarios.
• Deliver internal product and regulation‑based training, including follow‑up and monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience dealing with defined benefit (DB), defined contribution (DC) or SIPP/SSAS arrangements within a consultancy, provider or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of current and historic pension legislation.
• Ability to work autonomously while supporting a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Understanding of pension scheme structures (DB, DC, SIPP, SSAS).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance processes.
