People Advisory Lead

About the role

We are looking for a proactive People Advisory Lead to join a fast‑moving HR team. In this role you will act as a trusted partner to managers, delivering practical HR advice and managing a diverse employee‑relations caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee‑relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters from start to finish.
• Advise and coach managers to ensure best practice and consistent decision‑making.
• Draft HR correspondence such as invitations, outcome letters and management guidance.
• Support performance‑management initiatives and manager‑development resources.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships across operational teams.
• Assist with policy reviews and ensure HR processes remain compliant.
• Produce accurate case records, HR reporting and management information.
• Contribute to wider people projects, change initiatives and continuous‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HR Advisor, People Advisor or HR Generalist.
• Strong employee‑relations experience, handling disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and capability cases.
• Sound understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Ability to build credibility and influence managers at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach and commitment to delivering excellent service.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £40,000 – £42,000 per year.
• Full‑time permanent contract.
• Hybrid working within commuting distance of Bedfordshire, with occasional site travel.
