People and Culture Manager

About the role

We are seeking a passionate People & Culture Manager to join the pre‑opening team of Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere. In this role you will help shape the colleague experience from day one, building an exceptional workplace culture for one of the UK’s newest luxury destinations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the People & Culture team across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, administration, development and engagement.
• Welcome new colleagues, facilitate their integration and provide day‑to‑day HR support to staff and managers.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programmes and wellbeing initiatives.
• Handle employee relations administration professionally and confidentially.
• Champion company values, best practice and compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
• Collaborate with all departments to build positive relationships that support operational success.
• Contribute to departmental projects and pre‑opening activities as the hotel prepares to open.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a People & Culture, Human Resources or People Administration role, preferably within hospitality or a luxury service environment.
• Relevant HR qualification such as CIPD Level 3 or progress towards a CIPD qualification (preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and high administrative accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
