People Business Partner

About the role

The People Business Partner (PBP) is the strategic HR lead for the ICO’s Executive Directors and their departments. Working from the Wilmslow office (with hybrid flexibility), you will shape and implement people strategies that align with organisational goals, diversity and inclusion, talent, reward and workforce planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the People Strategy and Business Plan for the assigned directorate.
• Provide specialist HR advice to senior leaders, ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded early.
• Use data and analytics to design workforce solutions that support the business strategy.
• Mitigate people‑related risks and coach leaders on effective people management.
• Build and maintain relationships with trade unions, public and private partners, and suppliers.
• Collaborate with the Extended People Leadership Team, ET and SLT on organisational development initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior HR business partner or people‑lead role, preferably supporting senior executives.
• Strong understanding of organisational development, workforce planning and talent management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to translate data insights into actionable HR solutions.
• Commitment to championing equality, diversity and inclusion.
