People & Culture Director, Production

About the role

The People & Culture Director, Production will lead the UK Production People Plan for Warner Bros. Discovery’s theatrical, DC Studios, HBO and WBTV slate. Reporting to the GVP, People & Culture – International, this senior HR leader will shape a safe, inclusive and high‑performing environment for cast, crew and freelance talent across the UK and, when required, Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Leavesden Production People & Culture Partner team.
• Deliver expert HR advice in fast‑paced, high‑risk production settings.
• Oversee employee‑relations, contractual frameworks and wellbeing initiatives for a predominantly freelance workforce.
• Ensure compliance with UK and European labour regulations and Warner Bros. Discovery policies.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to embed a respectful and inclusive culture on all productions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in HR within the media/production sector, preferably with a freelance‑heavy workforce.
• Deep knowledge of employee relations, contract negotiation and wellbeing programmes.
• Proven ability to operate in time‑critical, creative environments.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills, with a track record of building trusted HR partnerships.
