People & Culture Officer

About the role

Join the People & Culture team at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, and help shape a positive, inclusive workplace within a world‑class luxury hotel. You will support managers and colleagues across the employee lifecycle, ensuring the hotel’s high standards are reflected in every HR interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide employee‑relations support, including performance management, probation reviews, investigations and wellbeing conversations.
• Manage HR administration throughout the employee journey – onboarding, promotions, benefits, payroll changes, compliance and record keeping.
• Assist recruitment efforts by sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews and delivering a memorable onboarding experience.
• Organise employee events, recognition programmes, communications and wellbeing initiatives to strengthen culture.
• Maintain HR systems, conduct right‑to‑work and DBS checks, support reporting and ensure compliance with legal and company standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an HR/People & Culture role, preferably in hospitality or a customer‑focused environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for supporting colleagues and managers.
• Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail in a fast‑paced setting.
• Professional communication skills, capable of handling confidential matters discreetly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS and ATS platforms, specifically Workday and ADP.
