People Manager

About the role

The People Manager will report directly to the Managing Director and lead the HR function for our client in Loughton. Working Monday‑Friday, 9am‑5:30pm, you will be responsible for creating an engaged, productive workforce aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies that support the overall business plan.
• Advise the Board and senior managers on organisational design, workforce planning, culture and talent.
• Lead organisational change initiatives and transformation programmes.
• Manage, coach and develop the HR team.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, succession planning and workforce forecasting.
• Maintain compensation, benefits and salary review processes, benchmarking against market trends.
• Assess training needs, deliver learning programmes and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
• Handle employee relations cases, grievances and disciplinary processes.
• Run day‑to‑day HR office operations and promote diversity, inclusion and conduct policies.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 or higher (or equivalent HR qualification).
• Human Resources degree or comparable experience.
• Proven experience as a People Manager or senior HR leader.
• Track record of advising boards and senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change and transformation projects.

• Competitive salary £60,000‑£70,000 per year, dependent on experience.
