People Operations Consultant

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established, values‑led organisation in Edinburgh with a People Operations Consultant to join the People & Culture team during a period of change. This generalist HR role blends day‑to‑day employee relations work with strategic projects and manager development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee relations cases, including absence, performance and conduct matters.
• Partner with managers to provide practical HR advice and guidance.
• Coach and develop manager capability, including designing and delivering training.
• Contribute to People projects, process improvements and organisational initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple sites and functions.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.

Required profile

• Strong generalist HR experience, with confidence handling employee relations independently.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience coaching, influencing and supporting managers.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and contributing to projects or change initiatives.
• Pragmatic, proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
