People Partner / HR Manager – London (3 days/week)

About the role

We are seeking a People Partner / HR Manager to join a respected international law firm in London on a three‑day‑a‑week basis. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the COO and Partners, you will lead the firm’s HR function while driving learning, development and employee engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all HR matters, providing guidance on employment law and best practice.
• Lead employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance and performance management.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and documentation.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle and partner with hiring managers to attract high‑quality talent.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction programmes and annual salary/bonus reviews.
• Oversee leave, absence and family‑leave processes and maintain accurate HR records.
• Produce HR reports and people analytics to support business decisions.
• Support workforce and succession planning, and conduct exit interviews to improve retention.
• Coach and develop employees, influencing senior leaders to enhance performance and career progression.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a generalist HR role covering the full employee lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
