People Partner

About the role

Elite Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established organisation in Birmingham for an experienced People Partner. You will join a collaborative People team, providing strategic HR support across the full employee lifecycle and helping to shape a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and organisational change.
• Manage a varied employee‑relations caseload, ensuring fair and consistent handling in line with UK employment legislation.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures to reflect best practice and legislative updates.
• Support attendance management, including long‑term sickness cases and occupational health referrals.
• Produce and analyse HR metrics and reports to inform business decisions and identify trends.
• Coordinate employee wellbeing initiatives and contribute to engagement activities.
• Conduct exit interviews, analyse feedback and recommend improvements to retention.
• Assist with recruitment activities and deliver training, workshops and induction programmes for managers and employees.
• Contribute to strategic HR projects and the ongoing development of the People function.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in a generalist HR or People Advisor/Partner role.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations and experience managing complex casework.
• Up‑to‑date understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Proven ability to develop HR policies and support organisational change.
• Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting HR data and producing reports.
• Confident presentation and training delivery capabilities.
