People Specialist – 6 month Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced People Specialist to join a fast‑growing SME undergoing a major transformation. The role is offered on a six‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of permanent employment, and works on a hybrid model (two days on‑site per week).

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders in Marketing, Finance, Legal, IT and other corporate functions to deliver HR advice.
• Provide expert guidance on complex employee‑relations issues, ensuring commercially balanced and legally compliant outcomes.
• Support business‑wide transformation programmes, including restructures and organisational change initiatives.
• Lead and contribute to HR process‑improvement and automation projects to boost efficiency and employee experience.
• Maintain HR policies and practices in line with current UK employment legislation and best practice.
• Coach managers to develop people‑management capability.
• Contribute to broader People initiatives that drive growth and organisational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a People Partner or People Specialist.
• CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification.
• Strong employee‑relations background with up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law.
• Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or restructuring programmes.
• Passion for process improvement, automation and continuous improvement.
• Commercially minded with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, high‑growth SME environment.
