Performance Architect – Platform Architecture

About the role

Apple is seeking a highly motivated Performance Architect to join its GPU Performance Modelling team in London. The role focuses on shaping the next generation of Apple silicon GPUs and system‑on‑chips by researching, prototyping, and validating architectural concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Research and propose innovative ideas that influence Apple’s platform direction.
• Prototype architectural and micro‑architectural concepts using existing C++ performance models.
• Gather, analyze, and validate measured and simulated results to identify bottlenecks.
• Present findings and recommendations to peers and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware and software teams to turn concepts into shipped architecture.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in computer architecture, micro‑architecture, CPU, GPU, or SOC domains.
• Hands‑on experience with performance and power simulation environments.
• Strong analytical skills for characterising complex workloads.
• Ability to work in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments.
