Performance Test Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Performance Test Lead to join our team in Edinburgh. The role requires working UK hours, often into the evening, and close collaboration with offshore colleagues. You will own the performance testing function, lead a team, and act as a hands‑on technical expert.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of performance testers, setting standards and best practices.
• Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts using tools such as LRE, Gatling, JMeter, and Dynatrace.
• Monitor and analyse system performance with Splunk, Dynatrace and other observability platforms.
• Model workloads, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and propose enhancements to code and infrastructure.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders (TPL/BPL level).
• Collaborate with offshore LTC colleagues and respond to complex, multi‑stakeholder issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading performance testing teams in a technical environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to debug and optimise both applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting to senior business leaders and mentoring junior staff.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
