Peripatetic Chef – Care Home Food Service

About the role

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified Peripatetic Chef to support its care homes across Milton Keynes, Northampton and Brackley. The role involves preparing fresh, seasonal meals for residents and travelling between sites, so a valid driver’s licence is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high‑quality fresh food to multiple care‑home locations.
• Drive safely between Ashby House, Collingtree Park and Juniper House as required.

Required profile

• A personable approach with genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing.
• Good understanding of nutrition and experience with fresh seasonal food.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQs/SVQs or City & Guilds equivalents.
• Current food hygiene certification.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment for residents.
• Confidence engaging with residents and strong kitchen management skills.
