Permit Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Permit Coordinator to join a busy organisation in Tottenham. The role is fully office‑based, Monday to Friday, and focuses on managing road space bookings and ensuring compliance with highways legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and submit permit applications to the Highways Authority based on work descriptions.
• Maintain and update permits and notices, request extensions when required.
• Liaise with Project Managers and Supervisors to coordinate road space efficiently.
• Enter and keep permitting data up‑to‑date using Excel and Microsoft Teams.
• Develop and nurture relationships with Local Authorities and other stakeholders.
• Monitor reinstatement inspections and resolve issues related to Fixed Penalty Notices and inspection data.

Required profile

• Previous experience raising permit applications within the highways sector.
• Knowledge of the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004 and the London Permit Scheme.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams.
• Familiarity with street‑works management systems such as Insight or Symology.
