Permit Coordinator – Road Works & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Permit Coordinator to join our growing team in Tottenham. The role ensures that all road and utility works comply with permitting regulations, enabling projects to progress safely, legally and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and track permit applications from submission to closure, ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines.
• Raise, coordinate and close works notices, monitor permit durations and arrange extensions as needed.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Supervisors and Local Authorities to secure road space bookings and coordinate bus stop or parking suspensions.
• Maintain accurate permitting records and trackers using Excel and Microsoft Teams.
• Coordinate third‑party applications for Temporary Traffic Orders, TMANs and related traffic management documents.
• Monitor reinstatement inspections, resolve Fixed Penalty Notices and compile monthly KPI reports.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years’ experience in permit coordination or street‑works administration, preferably in utilities or highways.
• Strong knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004 and the London Permit Scheme.
• Proven ability to work closely with Local Authorities and project teams.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with permitting software such as Confirm, Symology, Causeway, Mayrise or Street Manager.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams for collaboration.
