Personal Assistant for 10‑year‑old autistic girl (part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable personal assistant to accompany a 10‑year‑old autistic girl on outings and activities in and around Lancaster. The role is flexible, part‑time and primarily takes place on weekends and during school holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and accompany the child on trips to local parks, farms, wildlife centres, museums, cinema, swimming pools and other leisure venues.
• Ensure safety and comfort during outings, adapting activities to the child’s interests and needs.
• Manage travel logistics, including driving to destinations and covering petrol costs.
• Provide occasional evening support at home if required.
• Maintain open communication with the family and adjust schedules as needed.

Required profile

• Access to a car and willingness to drive to various locations.
• Flexibility to work a few times a month during term time and weekly during holidays.
• Comfortable working with autistic children and able to follow guidance.
• Current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and enrolment on the update service.
• Positive, patient attitude and reliable availability.
