Personal Care Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join a college team in Hayes. You will support learners with a wide range of medical, personal and educational needs, ensuring their wellbeing throughout the college day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene, toileting, continence and feeding assistance.
• Support students with hoisting, catheterising, dressing, grooming and transportation.
• Administer, prompt and record medication safely, including insulin.
• Maintain equipment, PPE and supplies in care and medical rooms.
• Collaborate with professionals to develop and follow Individual Care Plans.
• Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Required profile

• Experience supporting people with learning difficulties, disabilities or complex health needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, SEND Code of Practice and health‑care regulations.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
