Personal Care Assistant (PCA) – Specialist SEN School

About the role

Teaching Personnel is looking for a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support students at a specialist SEN high school in Bolton. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am‑3:00 pm, and offers a supportive environment where you can help young people develop independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care support to students where required.
• Assist pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Support classroom activities and learning programmes.
• Promote independence, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Care experience and care training (e.g., moving and handling) preferred but not essential.
• A caring, patient and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am‑3:00 pm.
