Personal Injury Claims Handler

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Claims Handler to manage a high‑volume caseload of Road Traffic Accident (RTA) Fast Track claims for a growing legal firm in Leeds. The role focuses on delivering robust claims handling, client outcomes and fee generation while working in a hybrid model after probation.

Key responsibilities

• Progress high‑volume Fast Track RTA personal injury claims in line with internal procedures.
• Assist litigation processes to generate fee income and support case strategy.
• Use the firm’s case management system to identify and progress cases where proceedings are tactically beneficial.
• Liaise with sources, medical agencies, experts, third‑party insurers and other parties.
• Support liability and quantum assessments, including reviewing medical reports, researching case law and drafting schedules of special damages.
• Handle denial of liability and causation arguments and provide commercial settlement advice.
• Contribute to performance targets such as profit, case issuance and settlements.
• Undertake additional reasonable tasks as required.

Required profile

• Recent UK‑based experience handling RTA personal injury claims.
• Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, relevant legislation and case law.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and a client‑focused approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a case management system.
• Competent use of MS Office applications.
