Personal Injury Fee Earner

About the role

A growing law firm in Manchester is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Fee Earner to manage a varied caseload of litigated personal injury matters, provide high-quality legal advice and deliver excellent client service.

Key responsibilities

• Handling litigated personal injury claims including road traffic accidents (RTA), employer liability (EL) and product liability (PL) matters.
• Managing cases from initial instruction through to resolution.
• Advising clients throughout the litigation process and providing clear, practical guidance.
• Drafting court documents, witness statements and instructions to counsel.
• Reviewing evidence, conducting investigations and developing case strategies.
• Managing deadlines, compliance requirements and service level agreements.
• Handling credit hire matters and related legal issues where applicable.
• Working towards agreed financial and performance targets.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Ensuring all files are managed in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing litigated personal injury claims, including small claims and fast‑track matters.
• Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Ability to draft court documents, witness statements and instructions to counsel.
• Experience with RTA and/or EL/PL claims.
• Good understanding of credit hire principles and relevant case law (advantageous).
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities to handle a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to case management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience using LEAP is advantageous.
