Personal Tax Manager / Senior Manager

About the role

This hands‑on position involves managing a portfolio of personal tax clients while delivering high‑quality advice and mentoring junior staff. You will work closely with both tax and accounts teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, handling annual self‑assessment returns, tax planning, onboarding and ongoing support.
• Provide proactive tax advice to high‑net‑worth individuals, business owners and families.
• Maintain high client satisfaction and retention through excellent communication.
• Lead, mentor and develop trainees and junior tax staff.
• Promote personal tax services within the local community and professional networks.
• Identify and convert prospective personal tax client opportunities.
• Collaborate across the group to optimise workflows, especially between tax and accounts teams.
• Ensure billing, client service and documentation are accurate, timely and compliant with regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional (CTA, ATT, ACCA/ICAEW) with significant personal tax experience.
• Corporate tax experience is an advantage.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality, accurate and timely work.
• Demonstrated expertise in personal tax compliance and advisory.
• Strong leadership, team engagement and people‑development capabilities.
• Commercial judgement and sound decision‑making.
• Excellent relationship‑management skills, building trust and providing proactive advice aligned with clients' financial goals.
