Pharmacist – Belford Hospital

About the role

The NHS Highland team is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist to join the multiprofessional team at Belford Hospital, a rural 31‑bed facility offering acute, rehabilitation, and emergency services. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality pharmacy care and supporting the hospital’s clinical objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical pharmacy services, including dispensary, distribution, and vaccine delivery.
• Supervise and lead pharmacy support workers and technicians as required.
• Integrate pharmacy strategy with the wider hospital strategy and drive service improvements.
• Participate in the Acute Pharmacy Clinical team across multiple hospitals.
• Lead project work within Belford and NHS Highland, contributing to governance and committee activities.

Required profile

• Undergraduate Masters degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Prepared to obtain or already hold a post‑graduate qualification in a relevant pharmacy area.
• Registration as an independent prescriber with the GPC.
• High professional competence, sound judgement, and thorough knowledge of pharmacy standards, ethics, and legal requirements.
