Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our in‑store pharmacy team. You will help customers receive confidential, attentive service while supporting the safe handling of medicines and over‑the‑counter sales.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a friendly, confidential service to patients and customers.
• Support and control over‑the‑counter (OTC) sales and replenish stock.
• Label and dispense Prescription Only Medicines (POMs) in line with pharmacy procedures.
• Hand out prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Assist with resolving surgery queries and report dispensing errors or near‑misses.
• Deliver a range of pharmacy services and support the pharmacy team in meeting KPIs.

Required profile

• Completed an approved Pharmacy Assistant training course (e.g., NPA Interact).
• Completed an approved Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant course (e.g., NPA DAC – 1‑year course).
• Shows care, compassion and a helpful attitude towards customers.
• Enthusiastic about delivering pharmacy services and meeting performance targets.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and evenings.
