Pharmacy Support Worker – Acute & Mental Health (Part‑time)

About the role
We are seeking a motivated Pharmacy Support Worker to join our friendly pharmacy team at Gartnavel General Hospital. The role involves supporting the safe and effective supply of medicines across acute and mental health wards, with occasional work on other North Sector sites.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver ward and department top‑up services, ensuring accurate and timely medicine supply.
- Dispense inpatient, outpatient and clinical‑trial prescriptions following training and SOPs.
- Receive, store, and manage stock, maintaining records and supporting stock rotation.
- Process requisitions, pick, pack and distribute medicines safely across wards.
- Communicate with pharmacy colleagues, ward staff, patients and suppliers to resolve queries.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in dispensary and ward environments.
- Support audits, record‑keeping and compliance with medicines‑management legislation.
Required profile
- Good general education at National 5, Standard Grade level or equivalent.
- Experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Willingness to work 22 hours per week, including public holidays and weekends.
