Pharmacy Support Worker – Aseptic Unit

About the role

The Pharmacy Support Worker will join the aseptic unit at University Hospital Southampton, helping to prepare, label, assemble and supply sterile pharmacy products. Working under the Aseptic Services Supervisor, you will ensure all activities follow SOPs and GMP standards, directly supporting patient safety and high‑quality pharmacy services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, label and assemble aseptic products in accordance with SOPs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and batch records for all activities.
• Support environmental monitoring and stock control within the aseptic facility.
• Assist with cleaning, decontamination and routine maintenance of the cleanroom.
• Escalate any deviations or issues to the supervisor to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary hospital team.
• Willingness to follow strict hygiene and safety protocols.

Required skills

• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) awareness.
• Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Aseptic techniques and cleanroom procedures.
• Environmental monitoring procedures.
• Documentation and stock control.
