Pharmacy Support Worker – Community Directorate (Fixed‑term)

About the role

The Pharmacy Support Worker will join the Community Directorate Pharmacy Team within the Annandale & Eskdale Cluster, supporting the delivery of pharmacy services to patients across Dumfries and Galloway. Working from the pharmacy hub in Lockerbie (or Annan), you will collaborate with GP practices and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient medication management.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to medicines‑related queries from patients, GP staff and healthcare professionals.
• Assist with level 1 medicines reconciliation and support medication safety processes.
• Carry out routine pharmacy audits and contribute to care‑home medication reviews.
• Facilitate team communication and documentation within the pharmacy hub.
• Provide regular, patient‑focused communication and support.

Required profile

• Organised, reliable and proactive with a willingness to learn.
• Effective communicator able to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
• Enthusiastic about supporting patient‑focused pharmacy services.
