Pharmacy Technician – Primary Care (Part‑time)

About the role

The Primary Care Pharmacy team in Midlothian is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to provide professional leadership and management. You will work closely with advanced clinical pharmacists and support multidisciplinary GP practice work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead service delivery and monitor the medicines efficiencies programme for the partnership.
• Support and develop General Practice Pharmacy Technicians and pre‑registration technicians, identifying training needs.
• Work autonomously to achieve prescribing support objectives, generating and manipulating data to influence initiatives.
• Collaborate with patients, GPs and other healthcare professionals, ensuring high‑quality medicines management.

Required profile

• Strong team management and leadership abilities with a flexible, adaptable approach.
• Excellent knowledge of medicines management and recent developments in GP prescribing.
• Self‑directed, confident problem‑solver capable of working independently.
• PVG Scheme membership (adult and/or child) and legal right to work in the UK.

• Proficiency with IT systems used in primary care pharmacy.
