PhD Studentship: Sexual Harassment & Assault in the Workplace

About the role
The College of Business and Law at UWE Bristol invites applications for a fully funded interdisciplinary PhD studentship investigating legal and HR blind spots surrounding sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace. The research will bridge employment law, HR practice, and gender‑based violence studies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review on workplace sexual harassment, employment law, and HR policies.
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including interviews, surveys, and case analysis.
- Analyse data using appropriate software and produce high‑quality academic publications.
- Engage with HR professionals, trade unions, and legal practitioners to gather practical insights.
- Present findings at conferences and contribute to teaching activities where appropriate.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Sociology, Gender Studies or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in gender‑based violence, workplace dynamics, and interdisciplinary research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively over a 3‑4 year period.
