Philanthropy Manager – Fixed‑Term (12 months)

About the role

Kidney Research UK is seeking a Philanthropy Manager to lead its major‑gift fundraising programme on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The role is home‑based with regular travel across London to meet donors, partners and stakeholders. You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and the Major Appeals Manager to grow income from high‑value supporters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of mid‑ to high‑value prospects and donors, building long‑lasting relationships.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of new and existing donors, targeting five‑ and six‑figure gifts.
• Collaborate with senior philanthropy staff to design and deliver tailored funding proposals and communications.
• Create a bespoke donor journey that enhances engagement and increases giving.
• Travel within London as required to attend meetings, events and donor visits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations or major‑gift management, preferably in the charitable or health sector.
• Strong ability to understand donor motivations and translate them into compelling proposals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building high‑value relationships.
• Willingness to travel regularly within London.
• Self‑motivated and able to work remotely with minimal supervision.
