Philanthropy Manager – Mid‑Level Donors

About the role

This position leads the development and execution of fundraising strategies aimed at mid‑level donors, trusts and legacy supporters for a church‑based charity in London. You will build strong relationships, design stewardship programmes and help grow the organisation’s income.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement targeted fundraising plans for mid‑level donors, trusts and legacy giving.
• Build and manage a portfolio of donors, cultivating relationships to increase contributions.
• Design and deliver stewardship and cultivation programmes to retain and grow support.
• Lead fundraising activities such as events, networking and donor engagement initiatives.
• Research, write and submit grant applications to trusts, foundations and dioceses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce compelling cases for support and impact reports.
• Manage fundraising budgets, monitor income targets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate donor data in CRM systems, adhering to data protection requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing mid‑level donor portfolios and meeting fundraising targets.
• Strong track record in writing successful funding applications and donor‑facing materials.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain and grow supporter relationships.
• Experience designing effective stewardship and cultivation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Confident public speaker with strong written and presentation abilities.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £41,000‑£44,000 per year.
• Interim fixed‑term contract until April 2027.
• Hybrid working with two days per week in the London office.
