About the role
Join a supportive primary school in Woolwich as a Phonics Teaching Assistant. You will help young learners develop confidence in reading and early literacy through targeted phonics support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group phonics sessions aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Collaborate with class teachers to differentiate learning activities.
- Provide engaging, hands‑on activities that reinforce phonics concepts.
- Track pupil progress and report feedback to teachers.
Required profile
- Experience supporting phonics within the UK National Curriculum.
- Familiarity with recognised phonics programmes.
- A caring, supportive nature with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Additional training in literacy or special educational needs is advantageous.
Required skills
- Knowledge of phonics programmes used in UK primary schools.
