PHP Developer – Hybrid (Newcastle)

About the role

We are partnering with a forward‑thinking organisation that is expanding its digital platform portfolio. The PHP Developer will join a modern engineering team in Newcastle, working on new web applications that serve the whole business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable back‑end services using PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Create responsive front‑end interfaces with modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and maintain database schemas in MySQL or SQLite.
• Deploy, monitor and optimise applications in an AWS cloud environment.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions and Agile sprint planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing with PHP and Laravel.
• Solid front‑end knowledge, preferably with React or Vue.
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, relational databases and cloud services.
• Enjoys problem‑solving, writing clean code and collaborating across technical and non‑technical teams.
