About the role

We are seeking a passionate Physical Education Teacher to join a high‑performing secondary school in Newbury from September 2026. The role involves delivering inclusive, engaging PE lessons that inspire confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of sport across all key stages.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Physical Education lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Inspire students of all abilities to achieve their full potential through a varied curriculum.
• Create a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes participation and achievement.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress, providing effective feedback.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic progress.
• Contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and wider school life.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• A degree in Physical Education or a related subject.
• Genuine passion for Physical Education and inspiring young people.
• Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for student achievement.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
