Physical Trainer – Army Training Centre

About the role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a Physical Trainer to deliver the Common Military Syllabus Physical Development Pathways to Regular and Reserve Phase One recruits at the Army Training Centre in Pirbright. This full‑time role involves recording fitness data, supporting permanent staff, and maintaining training equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Common Military Syllabus Physical Development Pathways to Regular and Reserve Phase One recruits.
• Record all fitness testing results onto the appropriate databases and provide statistical data to the Chain of Command when required.
• Design and deliver PD pathways to recruits within the Re‑train Platoon and Functional Skills Course.
• Provide verbal and written updates on each recruit’s progress to the Chain of Command.
• Deliver Individual Training Requirements fitness testing to Permanent Staff.
• Input all fitness test data into the Fitness Information Service Software and supply statistical updates.
• Support the Officer Commanding Physical & Recreational Training Centre as needed.
• Assist with weekly equipment maintenance and deep‑cleaning processes.
• Provide additional support to unit sports, health, and physical training events outside the syllabus.
• Attend all mandatory staff training to maintain instructor competency and continual professional development.

Required profile

• Must be able to work onsite full‑time (37 hours per week).
• Must attend all required staff training and CPD sessions.
