Physics Teacher – Mixed Secondary & Sixth Form (London)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Physics Teacher to join a mixed secondary school and sixth form in the London Borough of Croydon. The role starts in September and covers Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, delivering the physics curriculum to pupils aged 11‑18.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess physics lessons across KS3‑KS5.
• Prepare practical laboratory sessions and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Provide targeted support to improve student attainment and progress.
• Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum development and extra‑curricular activities.
• Maintain accurate records and report on student performance.

Required profile

• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Experience teaching physics in UK schools – recent graduate or experienced teacher accepted.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the UK physics curriculum.
• Competence in conducting safe laboratory experiments.
• Ability to use educational technology for lesson planning and assessment.
