Picking Station Operator

About the role

Enva is seeking a motivated Picking Station Operator to join its recycling operations in Manchester. You will work on a production line, removing contamination from recyclable material and ensuring the smooth running of the picking station.

Key responsibilities

• Operate all machinery and plant required for the recycling line safely and efficiently.
• Pick contamination from recyclable goods on the line.
• Perform daily and weekly checks, lubrication and greasing of equipment.
• Record and report any defects, breakdowns or non‑conforming waste promptly.
• Accurately report daily production output and downtime to the Operations Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard‑free workspace, using appropriate PPE at all times.
• Assist with manual handling tasks and support other operational roles as needed to ensure business continuity.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to stay on your feet for the duration of a shift.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Previous experience in a labour‑intensive environment is desirable but not essential.
