Pipefitter – Onsite in Glasgow

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join its team on the Clyde, working on high‑profile defence projects. You will fabricate and install pipework systems on vessels, ensuring reliable operation of utilities such as sinks, showers, and toilets.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and install large‑ and small‑bore pipework using copper, carbon steel, stainless steel and other materials.
• Cut, bend and weld pipes with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Install utilities aboard ships and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings.
• Collaborate with other trades to meet project timelines and maintain accurate work records.
• Adhere to safety regulations, SHE, COSHH and risk‑assessment procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Modern Apprenticeship or Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Proven experience in pipe manufacture and installation on major projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, pipework diagrams and technical specifications.
• Understanding of safe working practices, SHE, COSHH and risk‑assessment requirements.
