Pipework Fabricator

About the role

Our client, the operator of the Fawley Refinery, is establishing a new fabrication workshop and seeks an experienced Pipework Fabricator to produce pipework systems in a controlled workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate ferrous and non‑ferrous pipework from isometric drawings and technical specifications, handling sizes from ½" to 12".
• Perform all fabrication stages including cutting, bevelling, preparing, and assembling components prior to welding.
• Mark out, measure and align pipework to meet required tolerances and specifications.
• Assemble pipework systems using tacking and fit‑up techniques in preparation for welding.
• Conduct inspection and basic testing of fabricated pipework to ensure compliance with drawings and quality standards.
• Collaborate with welders to ensure correct joint preparation and overall fabrication quality.
• Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness and organisation, adhering to UK regulations and QA/QC standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Pipework Fabricator in a workshop setting.
• Hands‑on capability with cutting, grinding, bevelling and fit‑up of pipework.
• Strong knowledge of ferrous and non‑ferrous materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel and alloys.
• Ability to interpret isometric drawings with minimal supervision.
• Relevant NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualification in Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
