Planner – Repairs & Maintenance Scheduling

About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Planner to join our local repairs team in Cottenham. You will be the key link between residents, operatives and colleagues, ensuring repairs are scheduled efficiently and completed to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule operatives and subcontractors to optimise resource use and meet repair deadlines.
• Monitor and update repair jobs daily, including appointments, follow‑on works and overdue tasks.
• Support the use of IT systems, ensuring operatives update their PDAs and schedule of rates are entered correctly.
• Communicate clearly with residents, operatives and stakeholders to keep everyone informed.
• Collaborate with administrators, supervisors and contractors to deliver a seamless service.
• Cover for other planners as needed and attend meetings or training sessions.
• Assist with reporting, performance monitoring and KPI tracking.
• Prioritise emergency and urgent jobs to minimise resident disruption.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and compliance.
• Suggest and support continuous service improvements.

Required profile

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths.
• Experience in a similar planning or scheduling role within a fast‑paced, pressurised environment.
• Strong IT aptitude and ability to use job management and scheduling systems.
• Excellent time‑management, organisational and communication skills.
• Customer‑first approach with ability to handle challenging situations.
