Planning and Property Lawyer

About the role

Our client, a forward‑thinking local authority, delivers regeneration, development and commercial property projects. They are looking for an experienced Planning & Property Lawyer to provide practical legal advice across planning and commercial property matters, working on high‑profile projects and building strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on planning, property and local government matters.
• Draft and negotiate Section 106 Agreements and advise on planning obligations.
• Advise on commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases and licences.
• Support regeneration and development projects with practical legal guidance.
• Attend Planning Committee and stakeholder meetings as required.
• Negotiate agreements with developers, landowners and external parties.
• Manage a varied caseload while staying up‑to‑date with legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant post‑qualification experience.
• Experience advising on planning law, commercial property or both.
• Experience drafting and negotiating land and development agreements.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to provide practical legal advice.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence advising senior stakeholders.
