Plant Engineer – Mechanical Maintenance & Repair

About the role

We are seeking a Plant Engineer to join our client’s team in Cranleigh. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining diesel‑powered plant and vehicles across construction and agricultural sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on diesel‑powered plant and vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of equipment.
• Carry out weld repairs as required.
• Test parts and systems to verify proper operation.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and electronic equipment for fault finding.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or higher.
• Experience with construction plant, diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic and transmission systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full driving licence and ability to operate machinery on site.
