Plant Nursery Production Operative

About the role
This full‑time position supports Forestry England in growing the forests of the future. Working both indoors and outdoors, you will help nurture millions of trees each year in a dynamic nursery environment.
Key responsibilities
- Take and plant cuttings.
- Lift seedlings from seedbeds.
- Carry out mechanical transplanting and netting of seedbeds.
- Hand‑weed and nurture young plants.
- Grade and prepare trees of all sizes.
- Package and check products ready for distribution.
Required profile
- Enjoy active, hands‑on work in outdoor and indoor settings.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake repetitive tasks.
- Positive attitude and reliability.
Required skills
What we offer
- £12.21 per hour, rising to £12.73 after 12 weeks.
- Bonus scheme and premium overtime rates.
- Alternate Fridays off (subject to busy periods).
- Holiday entitlement increasing to 35.5 days after 12 weeks.
