Plant Performance Improvement Internship – Filton

About the role

This 12.5‑month placement is with the Business Operations Performance Improvement team at Airbus Filton. You will analyse plant performance and support innovative projects that drive safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental improvements in a leading aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain performance dashboards using data analytics to track operational metrics.
• Assist with regular business reporting and data analysis for the team.
• Lead or support ad‑hoc improvement projects within the plant.
• Provide daily operational support alongside the Business Improvement Manager.
• Analyse data to build business cases for attendance hour reductions, balancing investment and savings.
• Help deploy digital tools on the shop floor for reporting, health & safety risk capture, and alignment with Airbus Operating System standards.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance to drive industrial improvements.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Business, Engineering, a technical field or equivalent, remaining enrolled for the full placement duration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create clear, data‑driven presentations.
• Confidence to lead sessions and present findings.
• Interest in coding, digital tools and continuous self‑development.
• Desire to work in an open, trusting environment.
